Last updated 11 September 2026. How we collect, use and protect your personal data.
Draft — pending legal review
This page is a starting template, built from the facts available about The Dew Sweep. It is not legal advice and has not yet been reviewed by a solicitor. Please have it checked against Irish GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018 and ePrivacy requirements before relying on it publicly — bracketed details still need confirming.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by The Dew Sweep, an indoor golf lounge based in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, Ireland. For the purposes of data protection law, The Dew Sweep is the "data controller" of the personal data described in this policy.
The Dew Sweep Limited · Registered in Ireland · CRO No. 827593
Contact: info@thedewsweep.ie · WhatsApp. [Add a named Data Protection contact here if applicable.]
2. What personal data we collect
We collect personal data when you interact with this website:
- Waitlist / early-access sign-up: your name and email address. Waitlist sign-ups are collected on a separate page (dewsweep-waitlist.netlify.app) by The Dew Sweep Limited. We use them only to contact you about opening news and early-access offers, and you can ask to be removed at any time by emailing waitlist@thedewsweep.ie.
- Contact / enquiry form: your name, email address, an optional phone number, the reason for your enquiry, and your message.
- WhatsApp: if you contact us on WhatsApp, your messages are processed by WhatsApp (Meta) under WhatsApp's own terms — we only use them to answer your enquiry.
- Cookies and similar technology: see our Cookie Policy — strictly necessary storage always, analytics/marketing cookies only if you opt in.
- CCTV footage if you visit the premises — see our CCTV Notice.
Once online bookings are live, we will also collect booking details (dates, times, bay selection) and process payment through a third-party payment provider — we do not store full card details ourselves. This policy will be updated before that goes live.
3. Why we process your data (legal basis)
- Consent — for waitlist emails and any analytics/marketing cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 9).
- Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries sent through the contact form, to keep the premises and our systems secure (including CCTV), and to improve this website.
- Contract / steps prior to a contract — once bookings are live, to process a booking you have requested.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We may share it with:
- Service providers who help us run the site or business on our behalf (e.g. email/waitlist tooling, hosting). [List the specific providers once confirmed — Netlify (website hosting and the enquiry form) is in use.]
- Our alarm-monitoring provider, in relation to CCTV and alarm monitoring. [name provider once appointed]
- A payment provider, once online payments are live.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to.
5. International transfers
Some service providers we use (or may use) are based outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. [Confirm and name the specific providers and safeguards once tools are selected.]
6. How long we keep your data
- Waitlist data: kept until we launch bookings and you either convert to a customer or unsubscribe, whichever is sooner.
- Contact form enquiries: kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then deleted.
- CCTV footage: see our CCTV Notice for the specific retention period.
[Retention periods above are indicative — confirm exact timeframes before publishing.]
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Ask us to erase your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to certain exceptions.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format, where applicable.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@thedewsweep.ie. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission (info@dataprotection.ie), Ireland's supervisory authority.
8. Children's data
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through it. [If under-16s can be facility users, add a section on parental consent for on-site data such as CCTV.]
9. Cookies
This site uses a small amount of strictly necessary storage (such as remembering your cookie choice) and, only with your consent, analytics/marketing cookies. See our full Cookie Policy for details, and use "Manage cookie settings" in the footer at any time to change your choice.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, particularly as bookings, payments and marketing tools go live. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
